Calle 23 (pronounced Kai-Yay 23) tequila is the result of a journey that began in 2003 with French-born biochemist Sophie Decobecq. Driven by her passion and patience, Sophie aimed to create a tequila that would first satisfy her own palate and then appeal to enthusiasts. Calle 23 is a highland tequila from Jalisco, renowned for its natural sweetness. Sophie distills each expression—Blanco, Reposado, and Añejo—individually, using unique combinations of yeasts, a rare approach in tequila production. The Reposado, a 100% agave tequila, is aged for 8 months in ex-bourbon oak casks, enhancing its flavor profile.
